Which Substack is Right for Me?
A Brief Note Clarifying Subscriptions
Over the past two weeks, I’ve seen a significant increase in new subscribers to both of my Substack Newsletters. This is wonderful. Thank you for trusting me with your support. I will continue to do my best to deliver valuable content.
A couple of clarifications are in order, since it seems some of you may have subscribed to one newsletter when you intended to subscribe to the other.
I have two, yes two, Substacks.
The Notebooks of James Hazelwood - That’s this one that you are receiving
and
Notebooks is where I write about culture, politics, religion, and the inner lives that shape them. The aim is not hot takes or outrage, but clarity: naming what is happening beneath the surface of our common life, and asking what kind of people we are becoming in response.
Photobooks is a newsletter exploring Photography as witness: stories of place, resilience, and human connection. Photo essays that combine documentary photography and reflective writing to explore people, places, and the lived realities that shape our shared world.
Both are worthwhile, in my opinion, but you may only want to receive one. This quick update is just to ensure you’ve chosen the right one. Click on the links above to visit each newsletter’s homepage.
All in all, thanks for reading. I’ve got some great stuff coming this year. More on that later.
