This is really helpful. I have been wondering about the usefulness of the Nicean Creed because it's purpose was to help unite the Roman Empire under Constantine. Now I'm wondering what "believe" meant in Latin around 425 AD.

I’m reading Jung’s “Psychology and Western Religion” with its helpful understanding of divine archetypes in the creeds. The idea that each person has their own encounter with the divine energies is powerful, frightful, and humbling. Peace.
