Relevant and solid in the ongoing transitions from darkness into more and more Light. I believe Godself leads us graciously in increments spanning seconds to eons. Thank you, Pr. Jim

Thank you Jim. Holy Week seems more real this year as we witness more profoundly the brokenness and intentional cruelty around and within us.

Lovely essay, Jim, half way through when you pondered the difference between the poetic and the literal I am wondering if you ever came across Kierkegaard? He states that religious truth or any existential truth really can only be expressed in the poetic. The literal would kill it, make it flat, objectify what cannot be objectified.

I am familiar with the Dane but did not know this part of his writing. It makes sense though. I often wonder why Carl Jung never embraced SK as they really are two pivotal albeit different originators of depth psychology

So true, Jim, but what I struggle with Jung is that he seems not aware of the existential dialectics and its need for poetic or metaphorical language also when writing about it. He is deeply trained in descriptive language as a medical doctor I guess. The other thing is there was not much translation available yet of Kierkegaard in Jung’s time. I always wanted to compare both depth psychologies, but I am not an expert in Jung, and I would need to start with unfolding Kierkegaards depth psychology first! 😇

Thank you so much for the link, I have been looking for that missing link 😇. Kierkegaard research is still mostly confined to theology and philosophy. But I read him as a psychologist. Again, thank you, Jim. Always nice to find a kindred soul 🙏

Thank you, Jim. Sunday, in the Easter gospel, Peter,

"he went away wondering to himself what had happened."

So good to ponder the gospel, poetry, and your writing.
