After 3+ years of writing, I am starting to read again, and your posts are showing up at the right time for me. Thank you.
Today's post about pain and suffering, the questions about how God could let these things happen reminds me of 9/11. We heard the same questions and lament then. Some responded with what you write today: God was with them as they jumped from the upper floors....
The ancient Egyptians, to my simplistic understanding, did not have a dualistic view of good and evil. They referred to it as creativity and chaos. Too much creativity, left unchecked, led to chaos. In order to tame chaos and restore balance, we need creativity, the ability to do or think in a new way. Their view was they are different degrees of the same element.
We live in a litigious society that wants to find assign fault to every act. You are right: life is not fair, at least in our confined, limited view of it.
I struggle with John 14:16 and "no one comes to the Father except through me."
Is the artwork your creation? How do you make the time to write/think all this? Thank you again.

Sue. Thank you for being a dedicated writer and reader. As far as the John passage. I just preached on this text last Sunday at Redeemer in Maine. They might have a recording of it. https://m.facebook.com/people/Redeemer-Lutheran-Church-Bangor-ME/100064628801696/
Phenomenal message here! THANK YOU!
